Rock Hill, South Carolina native, Rudy Currence has been honored with an official resolution for his achievement in the music industry, specifically the gospel music industry!
The upstate South Carolina has been blazing trails in gospel music.
In 2013, Rudy won both the Grammy and Dove awards for his production on Lecrae’s album, GRAVITY.
In 2017, Rudy’s solo single, “Testimony," exploded onto the gospel charts, rising to Billboard’s Top 20.
Then, in 2021, his single, "I Belong Here" captured the #1 spot on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Charts.
His song “No Greater Love,” featuring Grammy Award winning recording artist, Chrisette Michele skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay charts.
Most recently, Rudy and Mike Chek Entertainment partnered with TRIBL Records, the Christian and Gospel music label known for such artists as Maverick City Music, JJ Hairston, and Naomi Raine, to name a few.
Last year, Rudy Currence was nominated at the 2024 Stellar Awards as BEST NEW ARTIST!
Recently, the National Recording Academy appointed Currence as a regional chapter Advisor.
His latest single titled “God Don’t Cancel Me” is currently available.
The Furman University college graduate said that receiving the honor from the SC House of Representatives was "an amazing journey"!
