Kirk Franklin kicked off the release tour of his highly anticipated new album, FATHER’S DAY, on Monday October 9th at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
The packed audience was lively and ready to have a good time time and worship!
The night started with praise and worship led by Tiffany Boone, Jonathan Nelson, and the New Birth Praise Team. It was followed by an hour long 1-on-1 discussion between Kirk Franklin and Pastor Jamal Bryant. They discussed Kirk finding his biological father, his relationship with his sons, and fatherhood.
Kirk Franklin has been very transparent about his experiences recently finding his biological father, Rick Hubbard, after years of uncertainty and disappointment.
Later, Pastor Jamal Bryant invited anyone in the audience who did not have a relationship with his or her father to the front for a special altar call.
The night culminated in Kirk singing a song from his new album, plus a medley of hit songs from earlier albums!
