John P. Kee, the gospel icon known for such gospel hits as "Show Up," " Clap Your Hands," and "Stand" has announced the passing of his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Shannon Kee.
An official statement on behalf of the Kee Family read in part, "On this day 1/2/24 at 8:27PM, she heard the voice of Jesus say 'Come Unto Me and Rest."
Mrs. Lizzie Kee was the matriarch of the family. She leaves behind five generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was 97 years old.
