The National Baptist Convention will be hosting its first ever President's Ball to celebrate the installation of newly-elected NBCUSA President, Dr. Boise Kimber.
The Ball will take place on January 14th at 6pm at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center in Birmingham, AL during the Mid-Winter Board Meeting, January 13-16th.
Rev. Kimber was elected as President last month after Rev. Jerry Young's tenure ended.
Dr. Kimber is the Senior Pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church in New Haven, Connecticut.
The National Baptist Convention is the largest predominantly African American church denomination in the United States and the second largest Baptist denomination in the world.
Supporters are watching to see how Dr. Kimber will successfully lead the Baptist denomination, including growing membership, helping member church become more technologically astute, reaching out to young people of faith, embracing women in the pulpit, and navigating cultural issues such as LGBT membership.
