Bishop T.D. Jakes is proving that he has no plans of fully stepping away from ministry.

Despite a major health scare and a period of transition within his ministry, the influential pastor, author, and businessman has launched a brand-new podcast with iHeartMedia, the world’s largest podcast publisher.

The podcast, titled "NXT CHAPTER," debuted on November 14 with none other than Oprah Winfrey as its first guest.

"NXT CHAPTER" is designed to be a weekly deep-dive into conversations with leaders and innovators across business, entertainment, wellness, spirituality, and culture. Each episode aims to help listeners navigate life’s crossroads and prepare for the future with wisdom, resilience, and clarity- something Jakes says resonates deeply with where he is personally and professionally.

Bishop Jakes’ new venture comes almost a year after he suffered a massive heart attack in November 2024, a medical crisis that sent shockwaves through the global faith community.

Jakes later shared that the health emergency forced him to re-evaluate the pace of his work, reflect on legacy, and listen closely to the direction he believed God was leading him. Doctors advised him to reduce stress and lighten his ministry load, prompting the renowned leader to prepare for a gradual transition of leadership.

In 2024, Jakes formally passed the spiritual reins of The Potter’s House to his daughter and son-in-law, Pastors Sarah Jakes Roberts and Touré Roberts.

Sarah, already a bestselling author and one of the most recognized voices in modern Christian ministry, had grown her own ministry, Woman Evolve, into a major global platform. Under Jakes’ mentorship, she has stepped into broader leadership at The Potter’s House, continuing the legacy while infusing it with her own unique voice and pastoral style.

Jakes emphasized that the transition was intentional and prayerfully guided, ensuring the ministry would outlive him and remain generational. He has continued to preach selectively, teach, write, produce films, and lead business ventures, but with a more balanced approach centered on longevity and purpose.

In a press release for the podcast, Jakes said, "I’m glad to be launching into my next chapter with iHeart and have the opportunity to reach a whole new audience on this journey." His statement reflects both his recovery and a renewed sense of mission- one that extends beyond traditional sermons and into broader cultural conversations.

"NXT CHAPTER with T.D. Jakes" is now available on the iHeartRadio app and across all major podcast platforms. Fans can follow the show at @NXTChapterPod on Instagram and watch full-length video episodes and exclusive content on YouTube.com/@NXTChapterPodcast.
