Very sad news! In an apparent suicide, Cheslie Kryst, who was crowned Miss USA in 2019, died after jumping from a building in New York City on Sunday morning, January 30th. Cheslie earned her law degree and MBA from Wake Forest University and completed her undergraduate work at the University of South Carolina, where she was on the track team.
In 2019, she made history when, for the first time, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss America were all Black women.
Please pray for comfort and understanding for Cheslie Kryst's family.
Cheslie was 30 years old.
